Stagnant air fueling our beautiful sunsets

Maybe you’ve noticed that Seattle’s sunrises and sunsets are particularly colorful lately. There’s a reason for our pretty pink and orange skies — stagnant air and small particulate matter! All these airborne particles lend to the hazy color of our horizon at dusk and dawn.

Thank you to Mark Ashmun, neighbor and owner of Mark Ashmun Seattle Real Estate, for this spectacular photo looking west towards Salmon Bay and the Olympic Mountains. You have talent Mark! For more of Mark’s photos follow him on Instragram at: http://instagram.com/markashmun
